Probabilistic Recognition of Orthogonal and Symplectic Groups: Corrections

چکیده
We propose a simple one sided Monte-Carlo algorithm to dis-tinguish, to any given degree of certainty, the symplectic group Cn(q) =PSp2n(q) from the orthogonal group Bn(q) = Ω2n+1(q) where q > 3 is oddand n and q are given. The algorithm does not use an order oracle and worksin polynomial, of n log q, time. This paper corrects an error in the previously published version of thealgorithm [1]. 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification: primary 51F15; secondary 20G40.

A Probabilistic Approach to Conjugacy Classes in the Finite Symplectic and Orthogonal Groups By Jason Fulman
Markov chains are used to give a purely probabilistic way of understanding the conjugacy classes of the finite symplectic and orthogonal groups in odd characteristic. As a corollary of these methods one obtains a probabilistic proof of Steinberg’s count of unipotent matrices and generalizations of formulas of Rudvalis and Shinoda.

Suppose $G$ is a split connected reductive orthogonal or symplectic group over an infinite field $F,$ $P=MN$ is a maximal parabolic subgroup of $G,$ $frak{n}$ is the Lie algebra of the unipotent radical $N.$ Under the adjoint action of its stabilizer in $M,$ every maximal prehomogeneous subspaces of $frak{n}$ is determined.
متن کاملDiscrimination of Power Quality Distorted Signals Based on Time-frequency Analysis and Probabilistic Neural Network
Recognition and classification of Power Quality Distorted Signals (PQDSs) in power systems is an essential duty. One of the noteworthy issues in Power Quality Analysis (PQA) is identification of distorted signals using an efficient scheme. This paper recommends a Time–Frequency Analysis (TFA), for extracting features, so-called "hybrid approach", using incorporation of Multi Resolution Analysis...
متن کاملDiagonals of rational functions and selected differential Galois groups
We recall that diagonals of rational functions naturally occur in lattice statistical mechanics and enumerative combinatorics. In all the examples emerging from physics, the minimal linear differential operators annihilating these diagonals of rational functions have been shown to actually possess orthogonal or symplectic differential Galois groups. In order to understand the emergence of such ...
